For Immediate Release:
Local Chamber Recognized Statewide
Every year, the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives (TCCE), the oldest organization in the country for training and educating chamber professionals, presents awards to local Chambers of Commerce for unique programming in the areas of Community Development, Economic Development, Education, Small Business, and Governmental Affairs. Winning chambers produced programs that have a demonstrated economic impact on the chamber’s service area or on its membership through new and innovative programming and/or execution of programming.
.
Of 614 local chambers of commerce in Texas, only a few innovative chambers received recognition for an Outstanding Program of the Year. One of those chambers, Pearland Chamber of Commerce, received a Honorable Mention award in the Economic Development division for their development of Pearland Day in Austin. Chamber Chair Elect, Russ Wilkins and Vice-President, Cheryl Kepp, received the award in front of some 85 attendees of the Annual Volunteer Conference, held at the AT&T Center in Austin on Friday, October 15, 2010. All entries were critiqued by an impartial panel of chamber executives in Texas.
TCCE is an organization of chamber executives from across the state, working together to improve the business climate in Texas, while developing ways to enhance the quality of life in the communities that they represent. Since 1906, TCCE has been enhancing and promoting the professional growth of chamber executives, by providing leadership for chamber employees through its many publications, resources, and conferences.
